Protec'Som
Protec’Som Laboratoire is a french medical devices designer which is registered in the European Database on Medical Devices. Protec’som is also a member of Convention Française des Prestataires de Dispositifs Médicaux* (French Medical Devices Providers Convention).

Protec’Som Laboratoire has been created in 2003. Protec’Som is designing and manufacturing medical devices in asthma and allergy fields.
All Protec'Som products are registered as medical devices and comply with Directives 93/42/EEC and 2007/42/EEC.
They are manufactured under a quality system conforming to ISO 13485 that specifies the system requirements of quality management for medical device industry. They are CE marked.
Located in the heart of the Cotentin, the European Center of Environment Control and surrounded by specialized laboratories in the controlled environment, the Protec'Som Laboratory is supported by several projects for the Innovation Center of the Region Basse Normandie (Normandy) and OSEO (which is the French agency for Innovation).
Protec'Som has been able to develop various partnerships, including research program, with both public and private organizations (hospital, industry, local authorities ...)
This policy of partnership and investment in research (> 14% of its turnover in 2007-2008 and 2009) allowed Protec’Som to develop several innovative processes that have generated seven patents.
Among these processes, two deal with protection against allergens, particularly with weaving process and joints of textile. They are already in use with our range of dust-mite proof covers. They bring decisive advantages in terms of efficiency and comfort.
Another research program has enabled the development of Itinhaler ®, particularly innovative inhaler device. This is currently engaged in developing knowledge of the mechanism of intra-pulmonary deposition, thus foreshadowing devices of tomorrow.
Another program, such as ProteXoderm ®, which aims at protecting the skin in atopic dermatitis, is currently undergoing clinical evaluation. This kind of project can open new paths in areas where every step is a relief and new hope for patients.
